The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are proud to introduce Chief Superintendent Dwight Thib as Regional Commander of OPP West Region.
Chief Superintendent Dwight Thib has spent his 39-year policing career in North East and North West Regions, where he began with the New Liskeard Police Service in 1982. Chief Thib joined the OPP in 2007 and quickly took on a variety of different roles, including Detachment Commander in Nipigon. In 2012, Chief Thib became the OPP North West Region's Manager of Criminal Operations. Since 2017, Chief Thib has been the Director of Operations and Support for North West Region.
Throughout his career, Chief Thib has been a strong proponent of community policing and building partnerships in an effort to foster safe and healthy communities. Chief Thib says he will also work hard to create a positive work environment for OPP West Region's approximately 1400 uniform members and civilian staff.
