On the 20th of August, 2021, while in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue East, two males entered into a disagreement and one male began assaulting the other, which ended when bystanders intervened and the pair parted ways.

Two days later on August 22nd, 2021, the same assailant located the victim a second time along the east harbour wall and continued the assault by viciously attacking him and striking the victim repeatedly with the victim’s own skateboard.

The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to the Grey Bruce Health Services for medical attention. The incident was reported to the Owen Sound Police at a later time and the accused in this matter has been identified. A 35 year old Owen Sound man is subsequently being charged with assault, assault with a weapon, assault cause bodily harm and fail to comply with probation. An arrest warrant is being sought for the accused.
