A Bruce County man is awaiting a bail hearing after being arrested this afternoon by Owen Sound Police. Shortly after 2:00 p.m. a citizen phoned 911 after observing a male in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue West with an axe who was damaging property.

Police responded immediately and located the 45 year-old male exiting a property with the axe in his hand. Through tactical communication police were able take the male into custody without incident and the axe was seized.

The investigation revealed that the accused had used the axe to break out the window of a car parked on the property and damaged some fencing. He is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of mischief.
