A traffic complaint has resulted in drug related charges.
On December 22, 2017 at 11:40 p.m., the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a black Dodge Ram pick-up truck being driven erratically northbound on Hwy. 6 in the Municipality of West Grey.
Police located the suspect vehicle stopped in a commercial parking lot Garafraxa Street South in Durham. The driver, who appeared to be passed out, was awakened and, after further investigation, was arrested for being in possession of illegal drugs.
48-year old Birgit Lara Rapelje of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA):
- Possession of Cannabis Marihuana - Under 30 grams
- Possession of Cannabis Resin - Over 1 gram
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Heroin
- Possession of Other Drugs x 3
She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on January 13, 2018.
