On January 20, 2018 at approximately 5:39 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch on Indian Acres Road West near Orchard Drive in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Police received further information that the driver of the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated.
Police arrived on scene and observed the black 2005 SUV running with a male asleep in the driver's seat. Once awakened, police determined that he had been drinking alcohol. He was transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests which resulted in readings of more than twice the legal limit.
A 27-year old from Owen Sound was charged with care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol; care or control of a motor vehicle over 80 mg; and being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content (B.A.C.) above zero.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 8, 2018.
