An impaired driver was stopped thanks to an alert motorist.
On February 15, 2018 at approximately 7:18 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a pick-up truck being driven erratically on Grey Road 3 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Grey Road 3 near Grey Road 5. The driver, who showed signs of impairment, was arrested and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests which he failed.
61-year old John Camplin of the Georgian Bluffs was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on March 8, 2018.
Grey County OPP urge the public to contact police if you suspect someone is or about to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
