Chatsworth man arrested after assulting mother and fatally injuring a pet.

On March 22, 2018 just after 1:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence in the Township of Chatsworth.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 22-year old male who had physically assaulted his mother and caused a fatal injury to her cat. The female victim required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries.

The male was transported to hospital where he was assessed and then released back to police custody.

The accused, who was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Killing, Injuring or Endangering Animals other than Cattle contrary to the Criminal Code, is schedule to appear in Court in Owen Sound on April 19, 2018.
