On April 26, 2018, as a result of a traffic complaint, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police seized licence plates from a vehicle parked on Nelson Street in the Municipality of Meaford after confirming through the Ministry of Transportation that the plates were unauthorized.

Further investigation revealed that Huronia West OPP held an outstanding Bench Warrant for the driver of the vehicle for a criminal offence.

Grey County OPP arrested the 51-year old Meaford man on the strength of the warrant and subsequently turned him over to Huronia West OPP.
