During the afternoon hours of Wednesday May 9, 2018, Detectives with the Owen Sound Police Service Drugs & Intelligence Unit and Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested a 29 year old Owen Sound man on 8th Street East in Owen Sound. The man was arrested for failing to comply with his bail release conditions.
The man put up a brief struggle with police as they attempted to arrest him. Neither police nor the man was injured during his physical resistance.
The man was found to be in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine (crystal meth), cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin, known as 'shatter'.
The man was charged with the following seven offences:
Two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance of bail
Assault with intent to resist arrest
Possession of cocaine
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of cannabis marihuana
Possession of cannabis resin
The total street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $800.00
The man is held in custody and will face these allegations at the Owen Sound courthouse on May 10, 2018 at 10:00 am.
