Be alert for distraction thefts.

Owen Sound Police are advising the public to be careful when dealing with strangers offering found money.

On two occasions yesterday, citizens were approached while in the parking lot of a retail store, by a woman believed in her thirties offering to return found money. The intent was to distract the person and gain access to their wallet.

In one instance, a victim had her credit cards removed from her wallet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Owen Sound Police or Crimestoppers.
