On Saturday, September 1st, 2018, Hanover Police Service obtained a 487.1 Search Warrant pursuant to Section 11 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. This was in response to a police investigation into illegal activity at a residence in the 400 block of 12th Avenue.
On Saturday, September 1st, 2018, at 4:20pm, members of the Hanover Police Service attended the same address and subsequently arrested five people on scene for various drug offences. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 pound of marihuana, 14 grams of cocaine and 32 grams of MDMA. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and over $3000.00 in Canadian currency.
Through further investigation, three of the arrested persons were released unconditionally. Hanover Police have charged an 18-year-old Hanover man with several offences including Trafficking of a Controlled Substance under Schedules I, II and III. This man was held for a bail hearing. A second 19-year-old West Grey man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. This male was released from police custody on a Promise to Appear. Both of these males have upcoming court dates in Walkerton.
