An OPP helicopter assists in take-down. Two people face numerous charges.
On September 4, 2018 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the South Bruce and Huron Ontario Provincial Police were conducting an investigation on Concession Road 4 near Teeswater, Bruce County. Police spotted a stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it but the driver would not stop. OPP Aviation Services were called in and the Eurocopter EC135 'chopper' kept sight of the vehicle. Police arrested a male and female after they abandoned the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, west of Harriston.
The investigation has led to two individuals being charged.
24-year-old Damien Dallas Yorke-Thomas of Huron-Kinloss Twp. was held for bail and charged with:
Two counts of Flight from Police
Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
Two counts of Driving while Disqualified
Two counts of Dangerous Driving
Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon
Possession of Methamphetamine
Mischief under $5000
Failing to comply with a Probation Order
27-year-old Heidi Lynne Diemert of Huron-Kinloss Twp. is scheduled to appear in Criminal court on October 9, 2018 and has been charged with:
Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
Possession of Methamphetamine
