On September 15th 2018 just before 4:00 a.m., police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E spot check when they were notified by a concerned citizen of a male slumped over the steering wheel of his pick- up truck. The officers attended in the 400 block of 8th Street East, Owen Sound and found the man passed out inside his vehicle with the keys in the ignition. The Georgian Bluffs resident was investigated and subsequently taken into custody. The 42 year old driver was found to have over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. The local resident will appear in court later this month after being charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operation with over 80mgs. of Alcohol.
