Hanover Police

On September 15th 2018 at 8:45 a.m., the Hanover Police Service responded for a report of a naked male on Hanover's Community Trail system. This was the second such report in as many days, as a similar complaint was received during the early evening hours on September 14th.
Hanover officers with assistance from the South Bruce OPP searched the community trail and the adjacent bush lot and located a male suspect not wearing any pants who was in the process of dressing.
The suspect, who was identified as a 37-year-old Hanover man was arrested and taken into custody by the Hanover Police Service. He faces criminal charges stemming from the reports on both days that include the following;
1. Causing a Disturbance by Indecent Exhibition X 2
2. Mischief by Interfering with the Lawful Enjoyment of Property X 2
The suspect was later released from custody on an Officer- In-Charge Undertaking with conditions not to be on or near Hanover's Community Trail System. He is scheduled to appear in Walkerton Court to answer to the charges.
The Hanover Police Service reminds everyone to use good personal safety practices while using secluded trails, parks and other areas that include having a mobile telephone, using these areas with other persons and letting family and friends know your whereabouts.
The Hanover Police Service continues to encourage citizens using these recreational areas to contact police if they see anything or anyone that appears to be suspicious. They would also like to speak with any witnesses that observed this suspect on either date.
