Owen Sound Police is encouraging retailers and citizens alike to be on the lookout for counterfeit money. Police are investigating two incidents reported yesterday where high value counterfeit bills were passed in Owen Sound.

Police received reports from two retailers about fake bills being passed. One downtown retailer recovered a counterfeit $50 bill and separate east hill business recovered a phony $100 bill. The investigations are continuing and citizens are encouraged not to accept any $50 bills with the serial number AHU1518004 or $100 bills with serial number of GJB4570817.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Owen Sound Police or Crime Stoppers.
