A 25 year old man from Hamilton was arrested last night in relation to a theft from an east side residence. Shortly before 8:00 p.m. the homeowner called police after finding an unknown male in his shed. The suspect was observed to be removing an assortment of carpentry tools and placing them a short distance away, off the Victim’s property.
The homeowner confronted the suspect who fled on foot. Police located the accused in the downtown core a short time later and he was taken into custody without incident. The male, who has no fixed address, was charged with theft and breaching a condition of a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing and all the property was recovered.
Police encourage citizens to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods.
