During the late evening of October 20th, 2018 a 42 year-old female and her 43 year-old boyfriend attended the victim’s apartment building on the west side of Owen Sound. The couple forced their way into the victim’s apartment. Once inside the couple began demanding money from the victim. The victim was forced to sit on her bed while the female ransacked the victim’s bedroom. The female threatened to kill the victim and her dog if she didn’t comply. The female accused also assaulted the victim. As the female was ransacking the rest of the apartment, the male stayed with the victim in the bedroom, preventing the victim from calling for help or leaving.

As the couple were leaving, they threatened to harm the victim if she called police. The couple stole a quantity of jewellery, prescription medications, electronic items, cash and the victim’s identification.

During the afternoon of October 21st, 2018 the accused couple returned to the victim’s apartment and again attempted to gain entry to the victim’s apartment. They were thwarted by the victim’s friend, who immediately called police. Uniform officers responded and a short time later located the couple at their apartment on 10th Street East. The couple were arrested and taken into custody. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Branch continued the investigation. Further investigation revealed the female was responsible for a break enter at the victim’s apartment during the early morning hours of October 18th, 2018.

On October 22nd, 2018 Detectives executed a search warrant at the accused couple’s apartment. Officers recovered the majority of the items that had had been stolen from the victim.

42 year-old Kimberly LAMOUREUX from Owen Sound has been charged with;

* Break and Enter, Commit Theft (2 counts)
* Robbery
* Forcible Confinement
* Utter Threats to Cause Death
* Utter Threats to Kill Animal
* Attempt Break and Enter

43 year-old Andrew SHULMAN from Owen Sound has been charged with;

* Break and Enter, Commit Theft
* Robbery
* Forcible Confinement
* Attempt Break and Enter

Both accused appeared in bail court today (October 22nd, 2018) in Owen Sound. They were both remanded into custody.
