On October 25, 2018 at 4:39 a.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a house fire on Southgate Road 12 in Southgate Township, Grey County.
The request for police came from Wellington North Fire Department who had been called to the structure fire at 3:45 a.m. They arrived on the scene and found the building fully engulfed in flames and were unable to determine if anyone was within the structure at the time of the fire.
Grey County OPP officers canvassed the area neighbours for information on the property owners. At 9:40 a.m. police spoke with the property owners who attended the fire scene and were able to confirm that no one was living in the residence.
Police are not treating the fire as suspicious at this time.
