Just before 2:30pm, on January 18th, 2019, the Owen Sound Police Service, along with Owen Sound Fire Services and Paramedics responded to a two car head-on collision in the 700 block of Alpha Street.

Paramedics treated the drivers of both vehicles, who were injured as a result of the collision. Both drivers were transported by ambulance from the scene to the hospital with relatively minor injuries.

The subsequent police investigation determined that driver of a red Honda was travelling north-east on Alpha Street, while the driver of grey Hyundai was travelling in the opposite direction up the hill. As the red Honda crested the hill, it crossed into the opposite lane resulting in a head-on collision with the grey Hyundai.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene. A 41 year old Owen Sound man was charged with Failing to Share Roadway, under the Highway Traffic Act.
