An Owen Sound man has been charged in a stabbing.

During the early morning hours of January 18, 2019 a male was stabbed while seated in the driver’s seat of a rented motor vehicle that was parked in a municipal lot in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue East, Owen Sound.

The victim transported himself to the Owen Sound Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries. The victim was released from hospital that same day.

On January 22, 2019 members of the Owen Sound Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch concluded their investigation with the arrest of a 29 year old man of no fixed address. At the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of several knives, a bb handgun as well as Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Marihuana.

In addition to being charged with assault with a weapon, the accused is further charged with several drug and weapons offences as well as several breaches of court orders.

The accused is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing which is scheduled to take place on January 23, 2019.
