Driver faces charges after a collision on Bruce Road 19.
A driver from Arran-Elderslie is facing charges following a head on motor vehicle collision that took place on Bruce Road 19 in Arran-Elderslie on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m. South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police, responded to a report of a head on motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles on Bruce Road 19.
Upon arrival officers observed a Ford Escape and a Toyota Corolla in the middle of the road.
Officers spoke with the driver of the Ford Escape and detected the presence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail. The driver was placed under arrest for Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and was transported to the Walkerton OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.
Mark POZARYCKI, 54-years-old, of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to S. 320.14(1)(b) CC
Dangerous Operation contrary to S. 320.13(1) CC
He has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 6, 2019.
His driver's licence was suspended for an automatic 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
