Update - recovered in Hanover
On March 7, 2019 shortly after 3:00 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a vehicle stolen from Markdale in the Municipality of Grey sometime between 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
The vehicle, a red 2014 Mazda 2SP with Ontario licence plate BTZT679, was parked in a commercial lot on Victoria Avenue in the village of Markdale. The victim had locked the vehicle and pocketed the keys before entering the building.
Video surveillance shows an unknown female going through the pockets of people's jackets and coats hanging on the coat rack inside the building. The suspect is described as being approximately 5'6" tall, heavy build, having dark brown curly hair, wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.
Police continue to investigate and is asking anyone with information, which may assist, to call Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
