On 19 April 2019 at approximately 3:00 am the Owen Sound Police responded to an alarm at Hillcrest Public School located at 501 8th Street West Owen Sound.

On scene police located a glass door that had been smashed to gain entry. Police arrested two male youths (16 years and 13 years) as they exited the building. Both males have been charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime. The 16 year old  was also charged with 2 counts of breach of probation.

The males were later released to the custody of their parents with a May 2019 court date.
