On Saturday, May 18th, 2019 shortly after 1 a.m., members of the Hanover Police Service were called to a break and enter in progress to a commercial building located in the Industrial Park in the Town of Hanover.
Members from the Hanover Police Service attended and set up containment with the assistance of the West Grey Police Service. A check of the building determined that the suspect had made their way from one commercial unit into a second commercial unit within the same building before entering the attic space.
The Hanover Fire Department attended and with their assistance, a heat source device was utilized that determined the suspect was in the northwest corner of the attic.
Hanover and West Grey officers entered the attic space through a small hatch door and located a male suspect completely hidden covered with loose insulation. The suspect was arrested for break and enter and lowered down two levels with the use of ladders to the ground floor.
Further investigation determined the suspect was in possession of brass knuckles, a lock picking set and stolen property.
