On May 25, 2019 at approximately 10:58 p.m., a member of the Grey-Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 6 north of Shepard Lake Road in the Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula for what appeared to be a defaced rear licence plate.
The driver of the vehicle, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck, was found to be suspended from driving. Further investigation resulted in additional offences.
A 68-year old from the Township of Chatsworth was charged with:
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle (HTA)
- Driving While Under Suspension (HTA)
- Use Deface Plate (HTA)
- Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway - No Insurance (CAIA)
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 24, 2019.
