A search warrant has been issued and execution of that warrant will continue.

On August 19, 2019 at 11:55 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a high risk situation, involving a weapon, at an address at Bruce Road 8, South Bruce Peninsula.

OPP secured the area surrounding the residence. As a result Bruce Road 8, between Bruce Road 14 and Municipal Road, was closed to any traffic.

On August 20, 2019 at 6:59 a.m. an individual at the residence was taken into custody by members of OPP Emergency Response Team.

A 37 year old individual from South Bruce Peninsula was arrested by officers at the scene and remains in custody with Grey Bruce OPP. Charges are expected to be laid at a bail hearing later today. There are no public safety issues remaining with regards to this incident. Bruce Road 8 has been reopened to traffic in both directions.

Grey Bruce OPP, with assistance from Grey Bruce OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP ERT and OPP K9, have executed a search warrant on the residence. On August 21, 2019 OPP will resume the search of the residence for evidence relating to this incident.
