A 31 year old man with no fixed address was arrested on Tuesday by Owen Sound Police for numerous criminal offences.
Sometime over Monday night into Tuesday morning a man located an unlocked 2019 white pick-up truck in the 1300 block of 4th Ave W with the keys inside. The man stole the vehicle and at about 12:30 am proceeded to attend a home in the upper west side of town. At this home he attempted to steal items and unsuccessfully tried to break in. When the residents awoke, they scared the man off and he left in the stolen vehicle. Police were called and attended but were unable to locate the vehicle.

He then drove the pick-up truck behind a strip plaza and crashed it into a fence causing a large portion of the fence to fall over.
From there he drove over to Owen Sound District Secondary School and drove onto the football field resulting in damage to the turf. He then drove the vehicle into a chain link fence running along the northside of the property where the truck became stuck and the man fled the scene.
Damage to all the property including the vehicle was estimated at $20 000.
Through investigation, police were able to identify the suspect and he was located at an east side store and arrested. The man is being held for a bail hearing where he must now answer to 10 criminal charges which include Break and Enter, Mischief, Using a stolen bank card, Possession of property by crime and Breach of Probation.
