A 56 year- old Owen Sound man faces criminal charges after the conclusion of a voyeurism investigation at a multi-unit dwelling on the east side of the city.

Detectives with the Owen Sound Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch used a search warrant to uncover a video camera that had been surreptitiously installed in an imitation heating vent which afforded a view of the washroom of a neighbouring apartment. Images were captured by the covert camera over a period of several months that could be viewed on a monitor by the accused.

The accused worked in maintenance for the building and had installed the camera in anticipation of the victim moving into the apartment during the early months of 2019.

The accused is charged with Voyeurism and Mischief: Interfere with the Lawful Enjoyment of Property. He is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges in January, 2020.
