playgroundThe Hanover Police Services Board and the Hanover Police Service are pleased to announce they were successful in a grant application process with the Province’s new Community Safety and Policing Grant Program.

The Province has allotted “local priorities” funding of $67,000 over the course of three years to the Hanover Police Services Board for the Community Trail and the Downtown Safety Initiative.

This funding will provide additional resources enhancing police presence in community parks, trails and our Downtown while engaging strategic community safety partners that provide services and support to our community members that experience mental health issues, addiction, poverty, homelessness and family violence.

In a press release issued yesterday in Cambridge, Sylvia Jones, Solicitor General stated, “Our police services and their partners know best what they need to combat crime in their communities. The investment they are making today will help deploy additional frontline officers and take action where and when it is needed most”.

The Hanover Police Services Board and the Hanover Police Service looks forward to receiving this funding and believes it will have a positive impact on community well-being, while making the Town of Hanover stronger, safer and more secure.
