policecarTwo Owen Sound males face multiple charges after separate incidents overnight.

In the first incident a 42-year-old Owen Sound male was arrested after a home invasion at a west side residence. The male attended his neighbour’s residence at approximately 8:00 p.m., who he was familiar with, and entered the residence without permission. Once inside the residence the accused is alleged to have assaulted three female occupants and then stealing a pet. One female was transported to hospital and treated for a broken rib. The male was arrested a short time later without incident. The male is facing charges of break and enter, robbery and assault. He was held for a bail hearing today.

Less than two hours later police were called to an east side retail establishment in regards to a shoplifting complaint. Staff reported that a 36-year-old male had loaded up two bags of electronic merchandise and clothing after damaging a locked display cabinet. Staff approached the male as he left the store and he told them “I’m not paying.” Police searched the area and with the assistance of a helpful citizen located the accused inside a nearby variety store. When he was arrested he was found in possession of merchandise that he had allegedly stole from that store. The male is charged with multiple offences and he also had outstanding arrest warrants against him. He too was held for a bail hearing today.
