On March 21, 2020 at approximately 5:45 am police, fire and EMS were dispatched to 305 14th Street West regarding an apartment fire. An Owen Sound Police Officer attended the 4th floor apartment and was able to extinguish the fire. The Police Officer suffered minor smoke inhalation and was treated on scene. The apartment occupant was transported to hospital as a precaution. There were no additional injuries, however this incident could have been tragic if the fire had not been contained so quickly.

This should be a reminder to everyone to exercise good judgment when using household appliances, burning candles or any other activity that could start a fire, safety should always be the main concern.
