Just before 1:30 p.m. members of the Owen Sound Police Service attended a residence located on the lower east side of the City, in relation to a concerned citizen’s complaint of a man being in possession of firearms.

Uniformed officers took the 27-year-old male into custody without incident. Two firearms, a quantity of ammunition, a quantity of Methamphetamine and cash were among the items seized.

The local area man was charged with numerous offences including Careless Storage of a Firearm and Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine.

The male remains in police custody awaiting a Bail Hearing.
