On July 1st, six motorists on Highway 6 in the 75 km stretch from Wiarton to Tobermory, were charged with stunt driving - 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) or more over the posted speed limit, contrary to section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act.

Four of the six men were between 25 and 27, the other two were 54 and older.

All were from at least 200 km from the area.

All of these drivers were issued provincial summons to attend court, a 7 day drivers licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 7 days.

The Grey Bruce OPP want to remind motorists that speeding is one of the leading causes of death on our highways.
