On Saturday July 24th the Owen Sound North Stars U19 Elite Women’s Field Lacrosse Team competed in their final weekend of OWFL play. The team finished the season ranked 3rd overall in the province with a 7-4-1 record. Graduating players Francesca Alpajaro and Jordan Kosempel finished the season with outstanding defensive performances. Goalie Maxine Van Strein also had a tremendous day between the pipes.

Game 4 - Bronze Game - Win
Owen Sound (18) vs Halton Hills (13)

NorthstarstournamentJuly24In the final tournament of the season, the U11A Girls finished with a second place finish.

In the first game, they met first place Oshawa, they fell 10-2. Scoring for Owen Sound, Ava Ward and Scarlett Stevenson.

In the second game against Burlington, the team was starting to find their groove, and finished strong with a 6-3 win. Goals for Owen Sound, Ella Todd (4), Avery Thompson and Briar McCoubrey.

Semi-finals against Oakville, was a quick, intense game that ended in a 4-3 OT win for Owen Sound. Scoring for Owen Sound, Ella Todd (2), Briar McCoubrey and Avery Thompson, with the OT goal.

Moving to the finals against Oshawa, the girls played another intense quick game. They tried hard, but ultimately fell 10-2, coming away with a Silver finish.

Olivia Neil made some great saves and stood proud in net for all four games.

The Owen Sound Northstars U13 B team played a hard fought final weekend.  The girls played so hard but ultimately came up short.

Game 1 the Northstars faced off against the Orillia team where they lost 5-2.  The two goals scored from the Northstars came from Mya Good and Lilly Shute.

Game 2 goalie Annabelle Evans was fantastic, but the Northstar squad couldn’t capture a win, loosing 5-3 to Toronto Beaches.  Scoring from the Northstars came from Mya Good, Ainsley Smith and Lilly Shute.

Game 3 against Burlington the Northstars played hard but fell short loosing 8-5. The goals scored for Owen Sound were Jenna Cranney with 3, Addison McCoubrey with 1 goal and Lilly Shute with 1 goal.
