The Ontario Hockey League today announced the regular season schedule of games for 2015-16.
The Owen Sound Attack will open their season on the road September 25th in Kitchener, before hosting Guelph on the 26th for their 2015/2016 home opener. A full list of Attack special events, raincheck nights and team skates will be released at a later date.
Divisional alignment remains the same for 2015-16 with all teams playing interdivisional rivals a minimum of six times including three games at home and three on the road, while teams will continue to play a minimum of one home and one road matchup against all 19 other clubs.
The 2015-16 regular season wraps up on Sunday March 20 with five games scheduled before the league’s top 16 teams will compete for the Robertson Cup in the 2016 OHL Playoffs.
The Attack will play at home 18 times on Saturdays, 5 Sundays, 8 Wednesdays, 2 Tuesdays and 1 Friday in 2015/2016.
CHL Special Events this season include the 2015 SUBWAY Super Series in OHL markets on Thursday November 12 hosted by the Owen Sound Attack, followed by Monday November 16 hosted by the Windsor Spitfires. The 2016 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is scheduled for Thursday January 28 in Vancouver, BC, and the MasterCard Memorial Cup is set for May 19-29 hosted by the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels and features the champions from all three leagues competing in the 98th edition of the CHL’s prestigious national championship.
The Ontario Hockey League continues the tradition of being primarily a weekend league in order to accommodate the student athlete with over 87% (595) games scheduled between Thursday and Sunday. Friday continues to be the busiest night during the season with 201 games scheduled, followed by 163 on Saturdays, and 134 on Sundays.
