Ten athletes represented KT (Kim-Thibodeau) Tae Kwon Do in Brampton on Saturday, May 7th for Grand Master Son’s 2022 Premier Taekwondo Championships. Master James Lee, Head Instructor Rick Thibodeau, and Master Jason Kim coached the athletes in both poomsae (patterns) and full contact kyorugi (sparring). It was a long day with lots of amazing moments of fortitude, match management, and courage.
The athletes cumulatively secured three gold, nine silver, and eight bronze medals, culminating with a club trophy. Calum Thibodeau faced off with fierce competition for his gold medal in poomsae while Sherra Westerveld dominated both poomsae and sparring to obtain two gold medals. A big thanks to all of the friends, family, and supporters of our athletes.
This was the first sanctioned in-person tournament in two years and was an event we will never forget.
