 Owen Sound Girls Field Lacrosse Weekly Report

The Owen Sound U19 Creative Playgrounds women’s field lacrosse team played back to back games in the JEWL division Friday night in Acton.

In game one, Owen Sound faced the undefeated Oshawa Lady Blue Nights. The North Stars led by a goal at half-time but struggled to keep their offensive momentum losing by a final score of 15-10.

Jill Goldie and Karly Low each scored 3 goals, Courtney Scott netted a pair and Cassidy Low and Edyn Beyer netted singles.

After a short rest period the team hit the field again where they faced the Toronto Beaches.

The North Stars took the lead early and had an impressive team offensive performance with eight different players finding the back of the net.

Jill Goldie scored 3, Karly Low, Edyn Beyer, Dani Strong, and Courtney Scott all had a pair of goals while Taryn Lee, Cassidy Low and Brooklyn Doyle netted singles.

The North Stars defeated the Toronto Beaches by a final score of 14-8.

Owen Sound finishes the half way mark of their regular season with 3 wins and 2 losses.

They look to improve their record when they face off against Kawartha and the JEWL select team in Oshawa next Sunday afternoon.

It was another busy weekend for the Owen Sound U19 Krueger Steel team as the North Stars travelled to Burlington for week three of action in the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse (OWFL) league.

On Saturday morning the U19 North Stars took the field and played hard, but were defeated by Orillia Lady Kings 12-4.

Goals by Willow Smith, Ryann Seaman, Camryn Stauffer and Hannah Davies.

The second game the North Stars had an awesome bounce-back game and all worked hard while playing as a team, which resulted in an 8-3 win over the Newmarket Redbirds.

Goals scored by Willow Smith (3), Aliviah McCall (2) , singles by Megan Cowan, Ryann Seaman and Camryn Stauffer.

The Owen Sound U15A Fire Fighters North Stars won a pair of games to extend their winning streak to four games in Ontario Women’s Field Lacrosse play on Saturday.

The wins improved the North Stars overall record to 5 wins and 1 loss.

The North Stars started their day with a 9-7 win over the Orillia Lady Kings.

Bree Wilkins led the attack for the North Stars with six goals. Single markers went to Camryn Laycock, Leah Cooper, and Adalyn Jackson.

In their second game the North Stars topped the Orangeville Northmen by a score of 11-6.

Taryn Weppler was the leading scorer for the North Stars with four goals. Other scorers for Owen Sound were Laycock with three goals, Sara Barfoot with two goals, and Avery Seaman and Cooper with one goal each.

The U15A squad will be off next Saturday before travelling to Toronto Saturday, June 24, to begin the second half of the season.

A little drizzle didn’t stop our Owen Sound U11A Ron Hopper Real Estate girls from playing amazing this weekend!

Our first game against Orangeville saw the North Stars win 11-8.

Owen Sound's goals from Quinn Norton (6), Atayvia Jackson (2) and singles by Keeva Fox, Adele Ferguson, and Mila Minard.

Our lock down defense stepped up big in our second win of the day against Toronto Beaches 15-6.

Goals by Adele (5), Quinn (5), Lyla Doyle (3), and singles by Sophie Burnett-Scott and Molly Richardson.

Thanks Coaches for a couple of great games!

The girls are next in action in Toronto on Sunday, June 25.

The Owen Sound U9 Berner Contracting girls played two games in Burlington this Sunday.

In their first game, the team had a tough 21-1 loss against Oshawa.

Our one goal came from Faye Burnett-Scott but the girls were ready for a comeback in their second game.

The girls defeated Orillia 11-9.

Goals from Faye Burnett-Scott (4), Clara Patterson (4), Alexa (Lexi) Bothwell (2) and Shantae (Tae) Wilson (1).

The team is in action again in Toronto on Sunday, June 25.
