The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that with the 22nd pick (18th due to passes) in the 2014 CHL Import Draft, the Attack have selected Finnish forward Petrus Palmu (Pet-ris Paul-moo) from Jokerit.
In 2013/2014, the 5'6 winger scored 25 goals and added 29 assists in 31 games for the Jokerit Under-18 team while adding another 11 goals and 13 assists in 15 games for Finland's World Under-17 Team.
"Petrus is going to bring a lot of skill to our team next season," said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. "On the surface, some may question his size, but we have done our homework on Petrus and the people we spoke to raved about his tenacity and his skill. He's a perfect fit for us."
Born on July 16th, 1997, Petrus is eligible for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. "We're confident he is going to fit in with our core group of players next season," DeGray said.
The Attack will pass on their 2nd Round Choice as defenseman Damir Sharipzyanov will return to the Attack in 2014/2015.
