Love is in the air this week, and what better way for the Owen Sound Attack to spend Valentine's Day than a date with the London Knights.

The Midwest Division rivals will square off at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Wednesday night in a 7:00pm game that has huge playoff ramifications for both teams.

With only 16 games left in the Ontario Hockey League's regular season, the Attack sit at 25-20-2-5 and in 7th place in the Western Conference. Their 57 points puts them five points back of the 4th place London Knights, who has 62 points by virtue of their 29-20-2-2 mark.

Despite sitting a handful of points behind London in the standings, Owen Sound does have a game in hand on the Knights, having only played 52 games compared to London's 53.

Wednesday night's meeting between the squads will mark the 6th and final meeting of the year between the teams, with London having claimed four wins in the previous five games - with all four victories coming in the last four outings between the sides.

The last matchup between the two teams came on Friday, Jan. 26 when the Knights routed Owen Sound 7-4 at Budweiser Gardens. The only victory for the Attack in the season series this year came via a 4-3 overtime win in the Forest City back on the 15th of October.

Wednesday night's game at the Bayshore will also help fans celebrate Valentine's Day with DC Taylor Jewellers, with the first 300 couples to visit the DC Taylor table in the south concourse eligible to win a diamond courtesy of the local fine jeweller.

The first 300 couples to register at the table will receive a velvet bag that contains a Cubic Zirconia. In the 3rd period of play, a number will be drawn from the 300 bags with the corresponding couple winning an authentic diamond courtesy of DC Taylor Jewellers.
