Owen Sound Little Theatre (OSLT) presents The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the powerful story of a gifted boy who solves a neighbourhood mystery, and in doing so has an adventure of self-discovery.

This production runs November 17,18,19,20 and 24,25,26,27 2021.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a compelling play that tells the story of 15 year old Christopher Boone. He is gifted, exceptional at math, but has difficulty with everyday life. One night, a “curious” incident occurs which sets off a series of events and discoveries. The story is a combination of fascinating plot and emotional depth of the characters. “Curious Incident” is a one-of-a-kind, heart-warming experience that has swept the theatre world, winning Olivier Awards in London and 5 Tony Awards in New York. It is uplifting, occasionally very funny, and will leave audiences inspired.

Nolan Ballantyne takes on the powerful role of Christopher, a young man who solves the mystery who learns he can achieve more than what is expected of him by others. This marks Nolan’s first lead role in an Owen Sound Little Theatre production. Nolan is supported by an ensemble cast of 11 actors and large screen video elements designed and produced by local videographer Richard Thomas.

As well, the Owen Sound Little Theatre is proud to receive the support of Autism Ontario in mounting this production.

Curious Incident marks the reopening of the Owen Sound Little Theatre after the pandemic forced its closure in March 2020. Initially part of the 2019-20 season, the production was cancelled just 15 days before its planned opening on Friday, March 13, 2020.

OSLT veteran director Pat O’Connor envisions OSLT’s reopening with this production with optimism. “I think our community will value theatre more now more than ever, as they have missed it. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder”.

Ticket holders from the 2020 production are being contacted to select new show dates, and can email [email protected] or call the box office at 519-371-2833. On October 8, remaining tickets will become available, with OSLT members offered front of the line access until October 15.
