Support Your Artists, Support Your Gallery. The Tom Thomson Art Gallery announces Northern Lights Art Show & Sale, a fundraising initiative featuring artwork from 27 contemporary Ontario artists. This initiative not only showcases a broad range of talent, it also supports both the Gallery and the artists who contributed to the Show & Sale. With a unique hybrid format, the Art Show & Sale will be available for artwork viewing and purchase both digitally (via the Gallery's Digital Portal) and in-person.
Northern Lights will be on view from September 22 to October 9 in the Gallery space, and online from September 18 to October 16. Featured Artist profiles will be highlighted during the show, providing insight into each Artist and their practice.
“Investing in fine art, whether it is big, bold expressive painting, a photograph, a ceramic vase, or a wood turned sculpture, is supporting an artist who has put care, inspiration and love into something they strongly believe in. It is a mindful decision to support their vision and to be connected to their personal history or story of significance. Northern Lights Art Show and Sale is such a great opportunity for our community to support regional artists, to learn about diverse artistic practices and to support our Gallery," says Heather McLeese Curator of Public Projects & Education, Tom Thomson Art Gallery.

“The northern lights offer us a glimpse at the creative universe and so, we could think of no better title and premise for curating an exhibition that features the artistic lights in our region and beyond. The artists featured in this Art Show & Sale have been selected for their important contribution to contemporary art in Ontario. We are thrilled to present their compelling and diverse narratives in this format and to offer the public a chance to build their personal collection," says Aidan Ware Director and Chief Curator, Tom Thomson Art Gallery.
