The Bluewater Quilters’ Guild has made a quilt they call The Covid-19 Quilt. Individual members created a block depicting some aspect of how Covid-19 has affected them, such as how important friends were or how getting out and appreciating nature helped lift their spirits. Those blocks were then stitched together into the finished quilt by Debi Gill. "I was amazed at how different all the blocks were!" commented Gill.

The Guild had been searching for a venue to show the quilt. Serendipity arrived when Ann Hadcock of the Deep Water Gallery, a Wiarton and District Chamber of Commerce initiative that offers networking and exhibition opportunities to regional artists from Grey and Bruce counties, approached the Guild about doing a show.

Theresa Stafford and Carol Seaman stepped up to co-ordinate the show, named ‘I-sew-lation - Creating Amid Covid’. The display features the Covid quilt plus 24 more items that cover the gamut of quilting techniques and styles including art quilts, appliqué and traditional piecework. Stafford and Seaman had no trouble rounding up items since quilters have been churning out work to keep themselves creatively occupied over the past two years.

The show runs March 11 to April 10, Fri and Sat 11am to 4pm. and Sundays from 11am to 4pm.
