Matthew Hayes is currently accepting students to join his growing violin studio. With over 10 years of experience teaching private and group classes in Canada and the UK, Hayes is offering 1:1 violin lessons in the Owen Sound and Grey-Bruce in-person and online.
Hayes received a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2004, studying modern and baroque violin with Jeremy Bell (Penderecki String Quartet) and Julie Baumgartel (Tafelmusik, Nota Bene), and has extensive performance experience with many symphony orchestras and ensembles in Southern Ontario, among them the Georgian Bay Symphony, as a principal player and section coach, Mississauga Symphony, Guelph Symphony, Waterloo Chamber Players, Spiritus Ensemble, to name a few.
As a violin teacher, Hayes currently teaches online lessons with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, and has taught with the Meaford Singing Strings, The Big Sound, and the Centre for String Playing.
