On Friday November 25th, the Bleeding Carrot will host a triple bill featuring some of the best emerging singer-songwriters with ties to Owen Sound. Together Andrew Nunno, Tragedy Ann, and Missy Bauman will mix their yacht rock, groovy folk rock, and glittery vocals for a night of unforgettable music.

All three acts are past winners of the Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival's Youth Discoveries program which they've used as a stepping stone to gigs on renowned stages like Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern, Cameron House, and the Live From the Rock Festival. Whether they're playing festival stages or making new friends at house concerts, each of these acts has not only learned the art of casting a melodic spell, they've honed that skill to a point.

Andrew Nunno was born and raised in Owen Sound where he first took to the stage at high school coffee houses and talent shows. He became so comfortable making music that he literally moved into his backyard studio. His songs are characterized by dreamy guitar riffs and seductive lyrics that mix yacht rock and lounge crooning with a hint of psychedelia.

Tragedy Ann are a folk duo based in Guelph. Both halves of the band (Braden Phelan and Liv Cazzola) write clever and heartfelt songs. Braden accompanies on guitar. Liv coaxes sweet melodies and sharp moods from her accordion. Their sets include classic sounding love songs, spooky ballads, and wanders through the concrete millennial jungles of Toronto. Liv's family cottage near Lion's Head has hosted and inspired writing sessions for the duo and their extended musical partnerships and Tragedy Ann are always giddily excited to return to Grey Bruce to share the fruits of it's inspiration.

Missy Bauman is a recently converted Owen Sounder. Originally hailing from Brantford, Missy has won awards across the province including the Hamilton Music Award for best new artist, graduated from Seneca's Independent Music Production program, and has collaborated with Juno award winning artists including Said the Whale. Missy's songs deliver stories that are variously heart-rending and hope-planting and she delivers them with a voice that sparkles with what could be stardust.

Friday night's concert promises to both showcase the artists' individual talents and show off how much fun friends can have at a show. Music fans won't want to miss the chance to see a crop of young musicians while they're still playing intimate shows in your neighbourhood.
