Richard Yves SitoskiJoin Richard-Yves Sitoski on July 10 at Sabitri's Global Cuisine (941 2nd Ave East, Owen Sound) as he launches his spoken word CD, Word Salad. The event starts at 8pm. There will be a buffet at 6:30.

After the 2014 release of his first book, brownfields, a verse chronicle of various events from Owen Sound's history, Richard-Yves Sitoski returned to his first love, spoken word poetry. A fixture on the local open mic scene, he has threatened to make an album for years – and now it's here.

Word Salad is not your usual Waldorf. While Sitoski's subject matter is often personal, his universal themes – love, loss, sadness, joy, and exasperation at the human condition – are tossed together with an unlikely combination of exotic oratorical ingredients, smothered in the tangiest of literary dressings, and topped with a few sharp shavings of histrionic fromage.

The release event promises a few surprises, as Sitoski will be performing both old chestnuts and hot-off-the-presses material to cello accompaniment by Keira McArthur. We are also proud to present as special guests up-and-comer Kaitlyn Neath and former Poet Laureate Kristan Anderson.
