The Georgian Bay Story Slam is an event providing a unique community experience. This live, true, story telling event is open to all. Story tellers each have ten minutes to tell a true story with no notes or cue cards. The stories range from the heartwarming to the hilarious and everything in between. Stories are interspersed with live music by a variety of musical guests and the evening also boasts a local celebrity judging panel who will declare the winner of the cash prize! Next event this Thursday, July 6.
Members of the audience who may be inspired to share a story also have the opportunity to get involved by entering the wildcard draw! One name will be drawn from the wildcard box at each Slam, giving the audience a shot to compete for the title and the cash!
At our launch event in May, we played to a packed house in the beautiful Heartwood Hall, and a great atmosphere of community, comedy and camaraderie was enjoyed by all!
Mali Rosen was declared our first winner for her captivating and beautifully told tale and took home a $200 purse!
Our next Story Slam happens this Thursday, July 6, starting at 7 at the Heartwood Concert Hall.
Tickets are only $10 for a full night of entertainment and can be purchased at the Heartwood Home store in Owen Sound, or reserved by messaging our Facebook Page called Georgian Bay Story Slam or by calling 705 718 7593. A limited number will be available at the door.
