Join us for the first concert of the 2018 Owen Sound Noon Hour Series : Whistle While You Work!   

The 25th Noon Hour Series opens with some of our region's most talented and versatile musicians presenting funny and thoughtful story songs of work and roles in life. Performed by Kelda Mikalson and Bethany Matthews, this concert will have you singing all the way home. Join us in this celebration of a quarter century of music at noon with music and laughter. Georgian Shores United Church from noon until 1. Admission is Pay-what-you-can.

cupcakekeldaKelda Mikalson received her Bachelor of Music in the windy coulees of Lethbridge, then hopped a train east to try her luck. Kelda now lives in Owen Sound, Ontario where she has found a supportive community. Kelda has a long history of singing in choirs, performing solo, and acting in musicals. She is a member of The A Cappella Chamber Choir of Port Elgin and the St. Mark's Festival Singers of Chesley. She has performed with the Owen Sound Little Theatre, the Lighthouse Swing Band, of Kincardine, and put on independent historical and cabaret shows. She performs as often as possible and loves teaching little ones at Music Together with Kelda, teaching all ages at Long and McQuade, and singing with her long term care residents.

Bethany began studying piano at a young age and obtained an Associates Diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2015. She is now a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. For several years, Bethany was the senior accompanist for the Georgian Bay Children's Choir, and has also been an accompanyist for musical theatre workshops, Kiwanis festival performances, RCM exams, the West Hill Secondary School vocal class, and musicals at the former OSCVI.
