craftivismWe invite the community of Owen Sound and beyond to a come and go event that marries together the ‘domestic arts’ and handicraft with activism. An experience open to all ages and skill strengths, we are encouraging different types of crafty activities, social and political issues, along with creative community involvement!

Multiple stations where all are welcome to create at individually or collectively, as well as a tots area for youth pieces. Assistance will be available in helping with a more comprehensive understanding on craftivism and all it entails.

This event is PAY AS YOU CAN to provide the best accessibility for the entire community while also trying to cover all costs. We will be providing a comprehensive materials list at the event. This will also be partially funded through the Laidlaw Youth Direct Action Fund 2018 as granted to YEY.

Presented by Anne-Marie Hay and Skye Cormier with guest Kelsey Star.
Skye Cormier is a self-taught artist and photographer, mum, and more recently organizing events like this. Anne-Marie Hay came up with the brilliant afternoon and has a background in social policy and public administration. Last year, Kelsey Starr worked on Riel Warrilow's City Council campaign designing and creating buttons and t-shirts.
Our associate, Youth Elevating Youth (YeY), is an Owen Sound based youth arts and social justice collective.
