Bruce Power has become the ‘New Play Development Sponsor’ of the Blyth Festival, as it enters its 45 th summer this month.
Bruce Power has pledged $125,000 over the next five years to the festival as part of the sponsorship, said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Operational Services.
“We are supporting the Blyth Festival because it aligns with our commitment to promoting and sustaining arts and culture in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties,” Scongack said. “The Blyth Festival is a unique experience for theatre-goers of all ages, and we are happy to support it and the Blyth community.”
Gil Garratt, Artistic Director of the Blyth Festival, welcomed Bruce Power as a corporate sponsor.
“It’s inspiring to see Bruce Power recognize the essential role the Festival plays in telling the region’s stories, celebrating our heroes and our history, and bringing the highest calibre of vibrant and vital arts and culture to our community,” Garratt said. “The Festival’s mission is to enrich the lives of our audience by giving voice to the region and the country, and Bruce Power is choosing to bolster that mission and amplify that voice.
We are grateful their support will help us continue a proud tradition of relevant, original storytelling on the Festival stage, where more than 135 Canadian plays have launched in 45 celebrated seasons.”
