online tablet and laptopWith two concerts left in the season, the GBS has decided that “the show must go on”. Our dedicated musicians are rehearsing and learning new technology to bring you two virtual concerts! The first is on May 9th and the final concert of the season is on June 13th.

Given our new reality of physical distancing, the GBS still wanted to be able to reach out and touch the lives of our patrons and communities with the uplifting gift of music. The current situation has inspired creative solutions to help the GBS fulfill this commitment to providing music to touch and soothe our souls.

With the change in venue from East Ridge to everyone’s kitchen and living room, modifications have been made to repertoire. The May 9th concert will include a work by Pachelbel, a few short pieces for flute and other instruments, and Maestro Koh has been practising his guitar skills. As well, we will have a special guest, violinist Aysel Taghi-Zada. The final concert on June 13th will include guest artist, pianist Younggun Kim.

The GBS concerts will be delivered in a different format from the original intended concert format. We hope you will enjoy the efforts and talent that our local musicians and their guests are pouring into the music that will be brought into your homes.

In appreciation of your continued support of our local community orchestra, the GBS will be issuing tax receipts to all of its patrons for the remainder of this season.

The May 9th concert will be made available through both YouTube and Facebook at 7pm EST that evening. Follow our FB page for more details. Find a comfortable chair, grab your favourite beverage, and join us for a fabulous concert. We will be sending out links and instructions as we get closer to concert day.
